Born between January 20th - February 18th

The air sign Aquarius, is traditionally ruled by Saturn, though Uranus has also been assigned rulership since its discovery in 1781. Physically it is related to the calves and ankles, as well as the circulation system. It is said to have a masculine nature, and is therefore more outwardly oriented in its energy expression. As an Air sign it is very social, and shows itself in groups and social organizations. Fixed Aquarius has determination and staying power, and is related to ideological convictions and social consciousness.

Aquarians can be very stubborn in their opinions, and so independent in their nature as to sometimes seem cold and uncaring; paradoxically, the sign is also strongly related to humanitarian ideals. Aquarians are usually of a moderate stature, firmly built, with a prepossessing appearance, gentle disposition, intense spirituality and self-reliance. Planets in this sign express themselves in a unique and unconventional manner, with a revolutionary spirit which can lead to an experience of alienation or social isolation. Nevertheless, the energy of Aquarius is in essence friendly, and expresses itself best where shared ideals play a greater role than emotions. Upheaval occurs through social relationships, and as divergent opinions and beliefs change, or loss of good friends occurs, Aquarians may experience a strong sense of isolation whilst re-evaluating their vision. They sometimes miss the true objective in a situation, or delay taking action until they have settled the ongoing debate in their heads. In intimate relationship Aquarians can be rather uncomfortable about showing emotion or any form of dependency, and a greater balance could be achieved if more warmth and identity could be invested in personal expression. When under emotional pressure, or when kept on too short a leash, they tend to freeze up and establish a distance, and this can be rather disturbing for others. A wise partner will never stand in the way of an Aquarian and their friends, as their greatest talent is social vision and the unconscious ability to create an almost magical atmosphere when together with others.

Moon in Aquarius has a strong pull toward the underdog, an attraction for the unconventional, and a pension for excitement and drama. Kind, but eccentric, they can have a cool distracted quality in their emotional nature with objectivity that borders on insensitivity. Here, there is such a strong need for independence that loneliness can develop and a defensive "who cares?" attitude toward all forms of emotional intimacy. Obstinacy, erratic behavior, aloofness, and a tendency to focus on their own needs at the expense of others must be overcome to form successful relationships.

Mercury in Aquarius is bright, restless and unconventional in both thought and actions. Ideas appear to come out of nowhere and often the dream world is a rich source of solution and inspiration. This is a scientific intellect that can embrace the metaphysical, including astrology, and these people are articulate, although rather impersonal and blunt in their speaking manner. They can be obstinate in their opinions and stuck in their ways, although they are willing to support the under dog or the unconventional with their thinking.

Venus in Aquarius seeks excitement in the unusual or kinky and requires a lot of excitement and freedom. The grass is always greener here, and they have a hard time bringing themselves to any commitment. Not particularly affectionate or overly expressive, this sign can seem cold and absorbed in their own reality, and must be given a great deal of freedom in their expression and personal independence to keep a successful relationship. They are also quite humanitarian, and can attract foreigners or develop an international identity.

Mars in Aquarius is willful, strong and can be plain bull headed. Unconventional and impulsive action can be ruthlessly challenging and/or inspired but is often not easy to live with. Once the will to initiate is found, these people can be dedicated to the exclusion of all else around them and they make great revolutionary figures as they are totally determined to achieve their personal objectives and are willing to sacrifice themselves for an ideal or cause that is larger than themselves.
